How Animal Crossing New Horizons has helped with my stress.

I have loved the 100 + hours that I have put into this game. I have waited years, as has everyone, for this game and it definitely came at a time where a temporary distraction from the world is needed. I am also nearing the end of my time as a graduate student and this game has eliminated a large amount of stress from my life.

I truly feel less stress when I set down my laptop everyday around 8 PM and just play a couple of hours of ACNH before bed. I tend to my flowers, gather wood, shop, speak to my villagers, and more during this time. As these tasks do not require much of an extensive thought process to complete, I am able to forget about the stress I have regarding the outside world and make the most of this incredible game.

The music is definitely that largest factor in creating a relaxing atmosphere. The music serves as relaxing background noise that allows my brain to stop going in circles about grad school and just focus on my cute villagers and how I'm going to change the layout of my island. Although, I will say catching water eggs was the most stressful part about this game.

As Nintendo continues to provide updates on the game, I hope to pour more hours into this incredible experience as it has given me so much peace of mind in a much needed time.
